The Washington County Sheriff's Office issued an alert on Thursday morning advising that Argote was found in a wooded area between Clear Spring Road and Bottom Road approximately a mile away from where his Mercedes was found during the manhunt tracking him.

Argote had been on the run for days, prompting a massive serach for the wanted man that included local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Last week, new details were released by Washington County Sheriff Brian Albert, who identified the 49-year-old Frederick resident as a suspect after the judge denied him visitation of his children to their mother, though Argote did not appear at the proceeding.

No details about his death was initially released by the sheriff's office.

More information about his death and circumstances surrounding the manhunt are expected to be released by officials at a 3 p.m. press conference on Thursday afternoon
